The better the CCTV system, the better the result!
CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) is often the ideal system to protect your property. Not only does it act as a visual deterrent but the video or digital recording provides an invaluable method of recording crime, violence or anti-social behaviour.
However, a word of advice here: the better the system, the better the result.
Basically, a decent quality digital CCTV system will give you a clear, easily identified image that doesn’t distort when zoomed, whereas it’s often difficult to recognise what you’re looking at on an analogue CCTV system image – like the blurry images you’ll be familiar with from programmes like Crimewatch which become even more pixelated when zoomed.
Although digital systems are a little more expensive, we don’t like the thought of you spending good money for a poor result when a little bit more will give you a crisp and useful image, especially if it’s needed for evidence. That’s why we try to encourage you invest in a digital CCTV system over the analogue option.
You can see the difference for yourselves in the examples below. These are genuine images taken under identical conditions and clearly demonstrate what we mean by the difference in quality.

Expertise is another important factor with HD CCTV
There’s a lot more to attaining high-quality images than just the equipment cost. CIA has over 25 years’ experience in CCTV and are experts in the design and installation of digital video surveillance systems in both domestic and commercial properties and all our CCTV video surveillance systems are fully compliant with NSI NACOSS Gold, the highest accreditation within the industry. So whether you need a simple system with just one or two cameras, or a fully networked integrated digital system that uses cloud storage, IP (internet protocol) and wi-fi technology, we can do it.
We can create a system for virtually any scenario. We discuss what you need and want from your CCTV system, and evaluate other impacting factors such as environment, location, light aspects and localised lighting. The resulting system is tailor made, carefully choosing the right cameras and technology to deliver the result you want.
The systems can be monitored by Southern Monitoring Services Ltd – our Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC) – which holds NSI Gold Medal Quality Assurance to ISO 9001, either traditionally or for visual verification (a way of confirming intruder alarm activations). Images can also be viewed from anywhere in the world (an internet connection is obviously necessary) via IP, either of a real-time live stream or of recorded video played-back from an IP DVR or from CCTV recorded and stored onto the cloud.
We cover the whole of the south (view full coverage area), including Berkshire, Dorset, East Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
