DNA propels SmokeCloak into new decisive era
SmokeCloak have added a new product to their line that significantly increases its effectiveness to deter and catch burglars cost effectively, by releasing their newly available SigNature DNA.
New and existing SmokeCloak units can be fitted with a liquid containing a unique DNA code. This additional DNA element is mixed in with the fog fluid to enable law enforcement agencies to forensically link criminals and goods to crime scenes.
Before now, an expensive, DNA-specific fluid was needed, but this has been superseded by a kit including a smaller container designed to be added to the fog fluid, where required. Not only has this approach made it possible to reduce the price of the DNA marking for new systems, it’s significantly brought down the price for adding DNA marking to existing systems.
As with ordinary SmokeCloak, the DNA security fog system aims to protect staff, customers and assets by emitting a thick and disorienting fog within seconds. Once distributed, the smoke remains and continues to protect the property for up to 45 minutes – only now, the fog marks the intruders, putting them at the scene of the crime.
SmokeCloak SigNature DNA is completely harmless. Made out of plant material, each location’s SigNature system will be loaded with DNA that is unique to each activation: a specific machine, at a specific location within the premises, at a specific time. It doesn’t leave any residues and is entirely safe for both humans and animals; nor does it damage any equipment.
This unique, location-specific DNA marker is deposited on skin, clothing and stolen items. This combination of fog and DNA technologies has proven to be a deterrent to criminals, helping to keep people and property safer.
As this SigNature DNA marker is distributed with the fog, it is capable of covering a much larger area than traditional DNA marking systems. This maximises deterrent rates, along with increasing the likelihood of successfully marking the intruders and connecting them with the crime.
The DNA traceability cannot be easily removed, staying in clothes for years and the hair and skin for three weeks or more. When clothes, weapons or money is found, SmokeCloak’s DNA can be authenticated in a laboratory by simple swab analysis.
“CIA were quick to recognise the effectiveness of the DNA product… so have already put all of our system designers and relevant engineers through the new training for design, installation and maintenance, in advance of this product becoming available,” Antony Christie, Company Director, Christie Intruder Alarms Ltd.
SmokeCloak offers a wide range of products designed to suit different size environments. Regardless of the width or length of the room or SmokeCloak product chosen, it is the world’s lightest and most powerful fog generator, and contains a patented heat exchanger and patented cloak sensor fog density sensor. The products also feature an intelligent nozzle principle (2 nozzles included), intelligent fog generator and a sabotage proof chassis and safety grill at nozzle.
CIA are now an approved partner of MSS Professional SmokeCloak Ltd, and we welcome the additional benefits of the DNA marker being retro-fittable to its entire line, including the Thousand series, Vali and Easy products. CIA was the first company to undergo the current level of advanced training.
