Integrated systems – the future of property security
Hello again
One area that has seemingly been overlooked on this site so far is system integration. Integrated Systems are the future for the security industry. Currently, businesses and private houses alike may use different companies to install the various system systems – e.g. one to install a fire alarm, sprinkler system and emergency lighting, one to install an access control, fire door release and fire escape system, one for CCTV and another for their intruder alarm. Larger businesses are also likely to have a building management system (BMS) for controlling heating, lighting and air conditioning, and will use fifth company for this. All this is changing with the advance of integrated systems where just one company provides all these facilities which interact with each other with a central point of control.
There are big savings in time and money to be made from integrated systems. But if you are going to put all your eggs in one basket, you need to feel confident that you have chosen the right company.
As always, CIA is leading the way here, along with security systems that use IP and Wi-Fi technologies. We are already offering our customers efficient and cost effective integrated systems, using intelligent hardware and software to get different systems talking to each other.
Customers who already use us across multiple disciplines without integration will really benefit later as system integration evolves and becomes the norm. The ease of integration when using one company aside, it always made sense to use CIA for the various disciplines because of our wealth of experience in all these areas of security and our reputation for unparalleled customer service.
Talking of which, there are also big plans afoot for improving the company’s already high customer service standards with lots of new ideas and training, but I’ll leave that to Sue Milner-Smith, the company’s Customer Services Director, to tell you more about in a future blog post.
Until next time,
