The CIA site Christmas banner and snowing header
Unless you’re reading this blog post after the twelfth night of Christmas (evening of the 5th of January), you’ll notice that we have a very festive Christmas and new year greeting and that it’s snowing in our banner space.
If you are reading this retrospectively then I should elaborate and tell you that the message read that we at CIA wished our visitors a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, and the normal banner image was full of snow flake patterns of various sizes and that smaller flakes were falling in the banner area and these changed direction, as if being effected by the wind, following any sudden and sweeping mouse movements.
We’ve had snow falling on our website for the last three Christmases, courtesy of the generous Scott Schiller with his easy to implement website snowstorm but since our site is now Drupal powered, this year’s snow is also accredited to Portuguese Drupal developer Jose Fernandes for converting this code into a Drupal module.
…and just in case you are thinking, “Why will it be displayed right up until the 5th of January”, well… after some debate, this was on the advice of Woodlands Junior school in Kent following a Google search, where they comprehensively explain the custom of removing decorations by the 12th night, and we wanted the message to remain for as long as tastefully possible because it was a happy new year message as well as a Merry Christmas message.
So goodbye again until next month when our blog post will no doubt return to matters more closely related to property security, the only things that remain to be said are to remember that Christmas is the holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ and to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us here at CIA!!!
