Passive Infra Red Activated Lighting Systems
Many people believe that Automatic Lighting is a good deterrent although others argue that the “villain” has already crossed the property’s boundaries by the time Passive Infra-Red sensors have detected movement and activated floodlights (or other illuminations), at which point it is already too late.
They also argue that the villians are not afraid to work in the light as the majority of break-ins occur during daylight hours anyway, and that animals can ‘trip’ the sensors. As people are used to external lights coming on, they don’t investigate if a neighbour’s lights come on.
That said, we at CIA still believe that it is better to have Automatic Lighting rather than not. No-one can deny the peace of mind the lights give when in residence knowing that there are no undesirables lurking in the shadows and there is also a lot to be said for the feeling of safety when arriving and leaving a lit property, however, we prefer to call it Automatic Lighting and not Security Lighting.
