What do businesses need to do for fire safety?
The starting point of every commercial fire alarm installation is a Fire Risk Assessment. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires every commercial premise to appoint a ‘responsible person’ who is accountable for producing a fire risk assessment of the property.
CIA cannot, by law, undertake a fire safety risk assessment for a business but our qualified and knowledgeable fire system designers can advise on what should be taken into consideration when preparing it.

How do you choose the right fire alarm system?
We can talk you through all the required steps to help provide the right level of fire safety for your business.
Understand the level of protection you need
The British Standard is broken down into categories. L systems aim to save life, P systems aim to protect property, and M systems – which are always required within L systems, and sometimes for P systems – are for manual operation (call points).
Fire Detection systems for commercial property
Our BAFE SP203 fire alarm system designers will design a system for the protection of life, property or both, and can be installed throughout the property or installed within defined areas of risk as determined from the findings of a fire risk assessment, local fire authority requirement or insurer’s stipulation.
Remote Fire Alarm Monitoring
Remotely monitored fire alarms (RMFAs) are connected to an alarm receiving centre (ARC) and pass on alarm activations to the relevant Fire and Rescue Service (FRS). We can help with the professional assistance you need for a fully monitored fire safety solution for domestic or commercial property.
This means we can help protect your home or business 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. If ever a fire incident occurred on your site, we’ll be on-hand to act immediately and get the quickest response from emergency services.
Fire Doors
The BS 9999 fire safety code of practice, recommends you should inspect and maintain your fire doors every six months.
If you are interested in buying/installing new fire doors or you would like an inspection and assessment of your current fire doors by a FDIS accredited inspector, please speak to one of our expects.
